WHAT IS OSTEOPATHY?
A osteopath's main goal is to return normal function and stability to the entire body to help encourage the body to heal. Osteopathy is a manual therapy (meaning we provide hands on treatment to promote recovery). We look at the relationship between function and structure which means that we focus on balancing all the systems of the body rather than on an isolated problem area.
WHAT IS PHYSIOTHERAPY?
Physiotherapy is a profession that promote wellness, mobility, and independence. Physiotherapists are primary care practitioners that can provide a significant role in the health promotion and treatment of injury and disease. They have a unique skill set focusing on evidenced-based science and clinical reasoning to assess, diagnose, and treat symptoms of injury, illness, or disease.
WHAT DO I WEAR TO A SESSION?
We recommend wearing something comfortable. It is beneficial to have clothing that allows you to move freely during your session. It may be helpful to see the area we are treating so we recommend bringing shorts for a lower body treatment and a tank top for an upper body treatment.
DO I NEED A REFERRAL BY A DOCTOR?
No. You do not need a referral to book an appointment to see a physiotherapist or osteopath. However, there are some insurance companies that require one to cover your session. We recommend you check with your own extended insurance plan to confirm.
What is your cancellation policy?
We would appreciate at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Appointments that are cancelled with less than 24 hours notice may be charged for the appointment time.
